What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is the single most effective tool for eliciting change in our lives and is naturally available to each and every one of us. Hypnosis is a natural state between awake and asleep and every person experiences the hypnotic trance state at least twice a day, just before they fall asleep and just at the point of waking. Therefore anyone can be hypnotised, not including those incapable of paying attention due to extremely low IQ or brain damage, but the depth of trance varies and around 10% of people experience the deepest level of hypnosis (these 10% are the people chosen in stage hypnosis shows). Incidentally, often the lighter stages of the hypnotic trance process are the most effective for therapeutic work.
Hypnosis utilises REM (Rapid Eye Movement) or the dream state, therapeutically and you remain relaxed and focussed throughout, choosing to participate in the session or withdraw at will. Therefore the most important thing is to be willing to concentrate and participate and allow yourself to experience true relaxation and gain personal control of your thoughts and therefore your life. You must want the treatment to be effective and be highly motivated to make the changes necessary. Hypnotherapy is not designed to force anyone to do anything against their will, this in fact is not possible. The Hypnotherapist facilitates you to make the changes you desire in your life, it centres on empowering you.
What can Hypnotherapy treat:
Hypnotherapy can be utilised for many psychological, emotional and physical disorders. It has proved to be an effective tool in pain relief during surgery, dentisty and childbirth and has been shown to facilitate people to overcome phobias, addictions and eating disorders. Here are some of the problems and conditions which can be treated:
- Stop smoking
- Weight Loss
- Anxiety/Panic Attacks
- Phobias
- Troubled Teenagers
- Stress Management
- Confidence Building
- Self Esteem
- Assertiveness Training
- Anger Management
- Sports Performance
- Test/Exam Nerves
- Habit Changing
- Help with Painful Memories/Grief
- Relationship/Family Problems
- Sexual/Emotional Problems
- Hypnobirthing
How does it work?
It is thought that Hypnosis alters our state of consciousness by switching off the analytical left hemisphere of the brain and allowing the right hemisphere of the brain which is creative to become more alert. This inhibits the conscious and stimulates the subconscious mind, which is the part that can make changes to behaviour and alter physical states. A phobia, for example, is stuck in the subconscious mind and only by reprogramming the ingrained belief at this level can change manifest in a persons daily life. You cannot become stuck in a hypnotic trance, you would just naturally progress into the normal sleep pattern
Techniques utilised during Hypnotherapy sessions
All our practitioners are fully qualified and experienced individuals who utilise many different techniques to treat a variety of conditions. These include:
- EFT
- Past Life Regression
- Motivational Life Coaching
- Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a healing therapy based on the ancient principles of acupuncture and is proving to be dramatically effective. This psychotherapeutic tool works using the theory that the negative emotions which follow a negative experience disturb the body's energy field and that tapping on the meridians while thinking about the negative emotion rebalances the electromagnetic energy field, reprogramming and clearing the imbalance.
It may seem bizzare that tapping certain points can produce dramatic results but in practice this therapy can reduce healing time from months or years down to minutes or hours. You can learn to do this technique yourself and once mastered you can apply it throughout your life, to improve your health and gain contol of your emotions.
The Emotional Freedom Techniques concept was developed in the US in the 1990's by Gary Craig. EFT roots are in acupuncture, kinesiology and psychology. EFT is now spreading very rapidly in the US and in the UK, where the concept is now used in some specialist areas of the National Health Service.
What is Past Life Regression?
Past Life Therapy is based on the premise that memories from your past lives are held in the subconscious mind influencing your subconscious responses to situations in your current life. Hypnosis and NLP can be used to regress a person back to a previous life, bringing clarity, releasing deeply held trauma and the emotional energy associated with the event, where an understanding can be gained from a higher detached perspective. This heals the symptoms currently presenting in this life.
Whether you believe that the memories are due to reincarnation, the collective unconscious, the akashic records, are DNA ancestor based or that it is all imaginary, it does not detract from the fact that regression therapy is a powerful tool, which can help bring about powerful change. Experience freedom from the past. Become master of your own destiny. What is Motivational Life Coaching?
If you, someone you know, or your staff, are missing those vital ingredients to move forward in life, then Motivation Training / Life Coaching is for you.

With Motivation Training / Life Coaching, you will be taught how to break those old habits. You will be taught how to search inside for the answers, and how to see things in a different perspective. From session 1, you will notice a remarkable difference in your outlook to life.
What is NLP?
NLP ( Neuro-Linguistic Programming ) was created by two Americans in the early 1970s, a mathematician called Richard Bandler and a linguist John Grinder. They studied some of the most effective therapists and chose three of them, Virginia Satir, Milton Erickson and Fritz Perls on which to build models of Linguistic and behavioural patterns. This modelling was the basis of what was later to become NLP.
They ascertained from their research that people who had become masters in their chosen field of work, operated at an unconscious level and because they perform without thinking about what they are doing, they are often unable to explain or teach how they achieve their results. Modelling identifies the component parts of the masterful performance and these can be taught to another person, upgrading their 'mental software', so that they too can achieve the same amazing results.
NLP has proved an effective tool in many fields including:
-In business, it can help managers to develop strong teamwork and work relationships and help salespeople to develop deep levels of rapport and effective communication skills.
-In sports performance, as excellence is a state of mind.-In Family Counselling, NLP can help improve the quality of communication and improve individual perspectives.
-In personal development, limiting beliefs and self sabotaging tendencies can be changed so that people take charge of their lives and achieve their full potential.
-In performing arts (writing, singing, acting, dancing), the potential creative talent can be fully realised.
-In the education system, Attention Deficiency Disorder (ADD), Learning Deficiency (LD) and hyper active children can be helped, examination fear, and anyone wishing to improve their grades by upgrading their 'mental software'.
It can be used to address any behaviour, whether the desire is to change, adopt or eliminate it from your life, you gain the skills required to take back your power and choose the current mental, emotional and physical state you are experiencing.

Hypnotherapy for Children
If your child is having some difficulties in life, whether emotional or psychological in nature, such as bed wetting, bullying, low self-esteem, to name a few, then there are some very effective techniques that can be used to help them.
At some point during their childhood, every child will experience some form of upset or an emotional problem. Children react in many different ways according to what they have experienced. Examples are reclusiveness, anxiety, fear, aggression, nightmares and bed wetting. Often, children will bottle it up inside, not knowing how to deal with their experience, or who to talk to about it. When this situation arises, and is left untreated, it can cause no end of emotional upset during their childhood years, even advancing into adulthood. Luckily today, there are some very successful techniques that are aimed specifically at helping children and teenagers (and their parents too).
Some of the main issues that children can be helped with are:

How Does It Work?
First of all, we recognise that children and teenagers are overcome with emotions and feelings that they have no idea how to deal with. Because children lack the understanding of these emotions, they don’t know how to express their feelings or which way to turn.
All of these feelings are new for the child, and because of this, the outcome is confusion. When a child is confused about their feelings, it is extremely important that they have an outlet, or some other way to vent their frustration.
Some children become recluses because they may feel overshadowed at home or at school. Because they don’t know how to express themselves, or they feel that they may not be believed, or taken notice of, they may go inside themselves.
Why Hypnotherapy?
Usually the first port of call that parents use is to see their local GP, who will then refer them onto a councillor, or a psychotherapist. Although this may sometimes help, it can also add more worry and anxiety into the child. As the child is already frightened and emotionally confused, being asked to explain their feelings, and justify their actions and things that they can’t make any sense of, can have an adverse effect.
The hypnotherapy session is very relaxed with a totally non-judgemental therapist in comfortable surroundings. The child will not be asked to justify themselves at any time. Instead, using specially developed techniques, they will be able to express themselves using their imagination, in a way that they understand, thus giving them a new outlet for their feelings. A child’s imagination is amazing, and by using it, they can achieve great things. Using hypnotherapy, they are shown how to use it for their benefit.
Some children may only need one session, whereas others may need more, all depending on their situation. Every child is different. With the child being in comfortable, relaxed surroundings, they find it easy to express their new found emotions that they are unable to express elsewhere.
The sessions are really enjoyable, for both the child, and the parents (and the therapist), and usually end up with the child and their parents having a much closer, stronger, understanding and loving relationship.
