  • Sports Massage

This is hands on massage, using essential oils which are applied to the skin. It is a most effective tool for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system.

It is used to increase blood flow, mobilise fluids, stimulate peripheral nerves and break down waste products, lesions and scar tissue. It can be very effective in seperating and stretching muscle fibres and accelerating recovery from exercise.

Received regularly this may help athletes prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse. A constant build up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves.

  • Sports Thai Massage

What are the special benefits of Thai yoga massage?

Thai massage is performed on the floor on your clothed body and involves exquisite stretches which eliminate tension, improve flexibility, enhance sports performance and help to maintain a pain-free healthy body.

Thai massage is designed to stretch every accessible muscle a little more than it normally would under the action of strongly contracting antagonistic muscles. It is a highly effective therapy for treating a range of pathological conditions of the musculo-skeletal system such as lower back pain, sciatica, fibrositis etc.

Thai massage and sports injuries

Most sports injuries involve damage to muscle fibres, myofascia or tendons and they are commonly caused by overuse of muscles that are not functionally balanced with other muscles in their group and with their antagonists.

Thai massage therapy enables every individual muscle to assume its normal relaxed length when not contracting.

When injury does occur the controlled stretches and manipulations in Thai massage have an unrivalled ability to speed healing and restore pain-free function.

Sports Thai Massage provides maintenance that muscles need, improving performance by reducing the risk of injury for athletes and dancers during their training.

Louise Segui is a Reiki Master-Teacher, training Reiki students in levels 1-4.
